Chris Pronger

Who should I cheer for???

Chris Pronger is now an Edmonton Oiler. My former roommate from when I lived in Edmonton, Mike Kuhn, would probably be happy because I now am a huge Oilers fan.

The problem is that I was already a huge Calgary Flames fan.

I don't know who to cheer for!

Maybe a better question is:
Will I actually be able to watch any NHL in Korea?

Blake , what are you smoking over there? The question is "do you actually think that he will show up?" Edmonton is north of Dryden and colder, wife and kid in warm St.Louis, come on, think about it , does he really need the 7.7 million. Also everyone in town needs to buy oiler garb and barretts don't have any!!!

Blake,

I can't believe that you openly contimplated cheering for the Oilers. Flames fans cannot cheer for the Oilers, not even if they are the last remaining team in the play-offs. You're lucky you are in S. Korea because that makes it just a little more difficult for me to knock some sense into you...but keep your eyes open buddy!

Blake,

I can't believe you openly contimplated cheering for the Oilers. Flames fans cannot cheer for the Oilers ever, not even if they are the last remaining Canadian team in the play-offs. You are luck you are in S. Korea because it makes it a little more difficult for me to knock some sense into you...but keep your eyes peeled buddy!

Dude, I was drunk on Soju. If it comes down to a Flames/Oilers game, I will have to cheer for the Flames. There is no choice.

Plus, Iginla is way cooler than Pronger anyday.

Jeff, I'm here in Korea and I can go knock some sense into him! Apparently Pronger and Peca are both excited to be playing in Edmonton...why? who knows.

Blake, you seem like a nice guy and I got your link from Korea Life Blog, but there is no way you can even think about cheering for those losers in Edmunchuck. Flames all the way! Besides even with Pronger and Peca they are still nowhere near the team that Calgary is....Man, we got the best player in the league and just signed him for another 3 years...I can't wait to be back in Calgary to witness another Cup run...I'm still pissed off I missed last years.

ok, my rant is done, and I'll be sure to check your blog more often...Cheers and hope you don't mind but I put a link to your blog from mine.

Haha, you guys are making me laugh.

Facts:

1. Pronger is from my hometown. Some some dumb reason, I feel some hometown pride about that. I had a pretty fun time getting the Edmonton fans pissed off whenever I used to watch Oiler games, by wearing my Blues jersey. There's nothing quite like having beer and popcorn thrown at me just because I was cheering for the visiting team. Cheering for the "bad guys" is always a good idea.

2. I lived in Edmonton for 5 years. I always cheered for the Flames when they were playing the Oilers, but the Oiler fans did rub off on me a bit. I do have a habit of cheering for them when they aren't playing against Calgary.

3. I have no third reason.

Here's three reasons to cheer for the Flames:

1. They have a kick-ass logo and uniform.

2. They need to win another Stanley Cup. Their logo kicks ass on a Stanley Cup ring.

3. Iginla is the best hockey player since Fleury in the early 90s. He's probably even better than that. They are a fun team to watch and their logo kicks ass.

That's three reasons verses two. I have to cheer for the Flames. Plus, I have a Calgary jersey. I don't have an Edmonton jersey.

Why in the blue hell would Pronger and Peca be happy to play in Edmonton? "The Oilers legacy"? I don't know. It's cold there and there are much nicer cities to play in (ie. Calgary, Tampa or El Paso). The only worse place to play would in would be in Winnipeg. Jeff, you live in Winnipeg. You should move to El Paso or Calgary instead.

El Paso needs an NHL team.
