Seoknam Temple

So on Saturday, Kevin and I decided to hop on our motorbikes and go cruising around. We eventually ended up at Seoknam temple. It's an interesting temple, because it only seemed to have female monks.

Don't get too excited, it's only a gas station.

It's a truck.

A mushroom house! That's my bike there.

On the highway to Busan (50km away).

This was kind of strange. It's a field basically in the middle of nowhere with a trampoline. Interestingly, it was fully of kids. There were no adults in site. We stopped to take some pictures. In doing so, we were met with lots of waves, anyongs and hellos. They liked us! They really liked us!

Here was another weird site. There was a large ship in a field, at the base of a mountain. Apparently is a resturant, and there are others in Korea like this.

I like this picture. It's a small temple and kimchi pots in the foreground, with the mountain in the background.

This is a great one too. I really like the lamppost. Some Koreans were laughing at the strange foreigner taking pictures of a lamppost... :)

We are in the temple grounds here. The leaves are starting to turn.

Every temple seems to have a stream running though it. They are all so pretty.

Beautiful. This is one of the reasons why Korea is awesome.

This bridge just looks so nice.

Maybe the graves of some well-known and loved monks?

Some of the temple complex.

A three-storied pagota. These pagotas are supposed to each contain a relic of the Buddha. People come to pray and bow in front of them.

What an amazing view, with the cloud descending upon the mountain!

Another great photo.

I really like this one too.

I couldn't stop taking pictures!

It's me!

Here's one of those small tractors.

Korea has praying mantis'. They are so awesome. I played with this friendly little critter for awhile. He just hung out and walked around a bit. These guys blend in with the grass so well that it's almost impossible to spot them.

Korean temples are so wonderful to walk around in.

I thought it might rain, but it held off until the evening. From here, we went on to see an amethyst cave (my posts got reversed).
