Go-Stop

In the Scooter Inferno post, I mentioned that Koreans aren't allowed (at least at the casinos that I've been to) to go into casinos. The reason for this might be a tendancy for Koreans to go hardcore with their gambling.

Some Koreans have been known to gamble away their homes while playing an addicting card game called "Go-Stop". Go-Stop is a card game that's extremely popular here. It's sort of like a really advanced/confusing version of snap. You can find a Go-Stop card set in every 7-Eleven style shop here. Interestingly, Nintendo used to make the Japanese version of Go-Stop cards before they got into videogames. There's an funny article in the new issue of the Ulsan Pear (June) about some ajummas running away from the police, which were cracking down on illegal Go-Stop gambling. It's a really big deal here.
